Scott
Beale

Chief Executive Officer

As FlightWorks founder, Scott Beale serves as Chief Executive Officer. Under his leadership, FlightWorks has achieved significant growth and recognition as a leading organization within the aircraft management and executive charter services industry. Mr. Beale’s background includes several management positions with various aviation companies.

FlightWorks was FAA Certified Part 135 in 1994 and initially operated in Miami, Florida providing charter service to the Bahamas. Mr. Beale moved the company to Atlanta, Georgia in 1996, leveraging the area’s growth rate to increase the company’s operational base.

Mr. Beale was born in New Jersey and grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Aviation. With more than 15 years experience in the aviation industry, Scott Beale directs the company’s business operations, Mr. Beale is an FAA certified commercial multi–engine pilot and certified AP mechanic. Prior to founding FlightWorks, Mr. Beale served in management positions with various aviation companies, including the logistics department at AirNet Systems in Columbus, Ohio.

Mr. Beale serves on the Georgia Business Aviation Association Board of Directors and he is active in community and civic organizations. He was recognized as one of Georgia’s top 50 Entrepreneurs in Catalyst Magazine. Mr. Beale was featured in PrivateAir magazine for his contributions to the Aviation Industry. FlightWorks was presented an award for Service Excellence by NetJets, a Berkshire Hathaway Company, and as a leading business by the Cobb County Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Lara

James Lara is president and COO of FlightWorks, a leading provider of domestic and international air charter and aircraft management services to individuals, corporations, and government sectors.

Mr. Lara is an industry veteran with more than 25 years of extensive operations and management experience with entrepreneurial, mid-size and Fortune 500 companies. His background includes a progression of high-level, senior, corporate executive positions.

By engaging his professional experience in business, operations and aviation with a mentoring, leadership style; Mr. Lara has further developed FlightWorks' executive management team. Prior to joining FlightWorks, Mr. Lara's tenure with other operations and operators - whether as a board member, entrepreneur, advisor or leader - clearly established his reputation as a visionary leader, best practices advocate, and value-focused senior executive.

James Lara is noted for his ability to quickly recognize “game changing” issues and guide highly effective teams in becoming more adaptive, profit conscious, market and value driven. He is a strong proponent of process benchmarking and strategic management. His focus includes optimizing operations and improving efficiency and service deliverables. By employing new methods, ideas and tools to improve effectiveness, Mr. Lara is leading FlightWorks to the next level.

Mr. Lara is a graduate of San Francisco State University with a bachelor of science in Business Management with an emphasis in Computer Science. Post-graduate studies include work at prestigious institutions including Stanford University, Southern Methodist University, Northwestern (The Kellogg School), Thunderbird University and the University of Virginia (The Darden School).

He is also an Airline Transport Pilot, type rated business jet captain and aircraft owner/operator with over 11,000 flight hours.


John C. Hatfield

Vice President Operations

John Hatfield serves as Vice President of Operations. His career includes positions as International Captain for Chrysler Corporation on the Gulfstream IV, Fleet Standards Manager for AVOLAR, and captain with Vivendi Universal. John Hatfield has accumulated over 6500 hours of accident and incident free flight experience. He is a standing member of the Corporate Aviation Managers Committee of the National Business Aviation Association. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aircraft Systems Management from the University of North Dakota.


Bill Lewis

Vice President Finance & Chief Financial Officer

Bill Lewis serves as Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer for FlightWorks. Mr. Lewis’s career includes twenty-five years of senior financial management experience, primarily assisting medium-sized companies successfully transition through periods of rapid growth and development. Prior to joining FlightWorks, Mr. Lewis was the Director of Finance for the online bill payment leader, CheckFree Corporation. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from Jacksonville University and is a certified CPA.


Cynthia Karnik

Vice President Government Services

Cynthia Karnik serves as FlightWorks’ Vice President, Government Services. Ms. Karnik has an extensive background in government aviation sales and contracting. Prior to joining FlightWorks, Ms. Karnik was Director of Government Programs & Sales at Gemini Air Cargo. Ms. Karnik is based at FlightWorks’ Manassas, VA facility, and focuses on federal, state and local government operations across the United States.


ron Smith

Vice President of Business Development

Ronald E. Smith, Vice President of Business Development, provides strategic and operational leadership for revenue growth, including geographic market expansion, charter sales, block hour programs, managed aircraft opportunities and customer service. He is responsible for key partnership development, joint ventures and strategic alliances. Mr. Smith brings over 22 years of accomplished sales, marketing and business development experience. Prior to joining Flightworks, Mr. Smith served as VP Sales & Marketing for AFGD Industries’ where he directed the architectural glass industry’s largest sales organization. In addition, he served as VP Sales for Pacesetter Steel. Mr. Smith graduated from East Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
